Until recently, Bečići (Montenegro, near Budva) was referred to as a small settlement, physically separated from Budva by the narrow Zavala peninsula. Today, Budva's main boulevard passes through Bečići, right next to exclusive hotels, which is why Bečići has become an integral part of Budva. The Zavala peninsula was transformed into a new architectural symbol of the city. The coastal promenade is connected to Bečići by a short pedestrian tunnel (through a narrow peninsula), and in this way the shores of both coves, Budva and Bečić, are one.
After exiting the pedestrian tunnel, the walker senses that he will have to walk through the luxury hotel complex in Bečići for some time. The original complex will be followed by a second one, but the beach is easy to reach, along the paths that lead to the coast. The off-season guest doesn't know where to go? Should he continue along the 1,950-meter-long beach (to Rafailovići), or should he turn right along the well-maintained footpaths, and thus reach the extreme cape of the Zavala peninsula? Seasonal guests have no similar dilemmas: they will swim on that award-winning beach, and take advantage of its numerous summer facilities!
The beach in Bečići is the greatest local treasure! In places it is up to 100 meters wide, so full of summer offers that enumerating what it offers in terms of atmosphere would take up space and time. The most painless thing would be to say that here no one will be deprived of the quality of the beach, no matter how they previously imagined it.
The sandy beach is strewn with the most aesthetic pebbles on the entire Montenegrin coast! Collectors of geological rarities - perfectly shaped small stones - walk along the coast at every moment of the hot summer and even in winter. Pebbles from Bečić are simply perfect! For thousands of years, the sea grinded these fragments of former rocks, turning them in the shallows with waves, confronting other imperfect fragments, until it rounded them to the perfect size and sometimes unexpected shapes: oblong, oval, regularly circular, as small as a button, or as large as an egg. And that's not all! Because there are several colors and shades at play: white, permeated with mineral veins, gray, brown, green, brick-red. However, at the highest price (among rare domestic collectors for now) is the so-called sea glass. It is about those perfectly rounded shards of glass, up to a century old, which the sea waves carved to perfection. The most valuable piece of sea glass from Bečići (found in Montenegro) is today in Bijela (see it), in a private collection.
If everything is taken into account, those bathers who assume a towel instead of a plastic lounger on Bečić beach are not rare. They do this so that the heated pebbles would warm them through the towel (and thus heal them). In the upper zones of the beach, the pebbles are replaced by very fine sand, but when you look closely, it is also composed of white, gray, brown and reddish shaped grains. That's the secret of 7 and a half decades!
Paradise beach, which is about 2 km long, is intersected in places by seasonal streams. Usually only barely visible troughs remain of them in the summer. Hotel guests sometimes fail to notice them. Because they have everything in the complexes. Among such hotels, the Splendid hotel (Conference&SPA, Beach Resort, *****) should be highlighted (for now), not because it is a small town whose Aqua Park guests have little reason to leave, but because here, after the premiere of the movie "Casino Royal" with the new James Bond (a movie in which the hotel and Montenegro are mentioned), Srećna Nova 007 (of course, 2007) was celebrated at the highest level...
The church of St. Tom. It has a nice port and a lookout point.
At the other end of Bečićka bay is the old settlement of Rafailovići. Even though it is still sandy, the beach here knows how to give birth to the occasional rock. Like a decoration! If we don't take into consideration the new settlement on the cascades above, the old coastal Rafailovići boasts several palaces, even with the fact that it is a fishing village. And yes they are, as evidenced by those restaurants that have a fisherman in their name!
A 3.3 km long hiking trail stretches from Rafailovići to Budva. It is illuminated with over 200 sunny days a year.
Behind the first southern cape you can see Kameno (Pržno), Miločer, Sv. Stefan (2 km). All those positions should be visited, because they are close.
