Kava sits back from the coast road on rising ground near Tivat, high enough for the bay to open out in front of it — the Vrmac ridge on one side, Luštica low on the other, and the water changing colour through the day. The beach is around five hundred metres downhill, and the shoreline path picks up from there, running south past Seljanovo to Porto Montenegro and north through Donja Lastva toward Lepetane and the ferry.
The position suits people who want the view and the pool in the middle of the day and the town in the evening. Tivat's centre — market, park, seafront cafés — is a short drive or a longer walk, and the marina's restaurants and museum submarines are the standard evening destination. Daytime is a choice between water and height: boats from the quay to Perast, Our Lady of the Rocks and the Blue Cave, or the switchback road up to Gornja Lastva, where a restored stone village and Austro-Hungarian forts along the Vrmac ridge look down over the whole bay. The airport is about five minutes away, Kotor twenty, and Budva a little more.
