Although the weather conditions throughout Europe are not exactly what we are used to at this time of the year, the tourist season has already begun in Montenegro. Currently, according to the data of the Tourist Center, 2,771 guests are resting on the Herzegovina Riviera, which is twenty-five percent more tourists than at the same time last year. According to tourist workers, this tendency will continue and this year is expected to be one of the "strongest" seasons in the last decade. Accordingly, preparations and enrichment of the offer are underway in the so-called pre-season, when the inventiveness of people associated with tourism comes to the fore.

And those for whom inventiveness has always been a strong point are certainly the people from the Subra mountaineering association, whose organization is organizing the Orjenski Marathon, a non-competitive mountaineering event for the fifth time in a row, which is like a magnet for lovers of active vacations.

This year, the Orjen Marathon attracted about fifty nature lovers, and its goal, according to the organizers, is companionship with the mountain, as well as showing and exploiting the beauty and natural potential of the Montenegrin coast.

As pointed out by the mountaineering association Subra, the Orjen massif with its more than four hundred square kilometers, the highest point of the eastern Adriatic coast and the most interesting detail of the coastal Dinarides, is still quite neglected and inadequately used as a tourist destination.

In accordance with that, Montenegrin mountaineers began to take steps to synchronize the offers of tourist workers and the natural resources of Montenegro, so that in this year's Orjen marathon, in addition to mountaineers and recreationists from Nikšić, Kotor, Tivat and Herceg Novi, eight mountaineer societies from countries formed from the former SFRY republics participated, among them Mosor from Split, whose members are coming to Orjen for the second time: "And this year, all the participants were very satisfied and everyone said that we will see each other again.

This is what gives us confirmation that these kinds of projects are good, and this is supported by the return of people who have already seen Orjen. The Orjen Marathon is an event that is included in the official calendar of the Mountaineering Association of Montenegro, and we can already say that it is traditional. Of course, we strive to have as many guests as possible every year and to provide the best possible atmosphere to all participants.

So this year, the whole event took place in two stages. On the first day, the marathon route was conquered that went around the top of Orjena, while the half-marathon route, which was conquered on the second day, was around the well-known, perhaps the most beautiful Orjena peak, Subra, which is quite inaccessible, so we had to put safety cables on certain parts of the route, but that makes the whole atmosphere more challenging and attractive,'' President Željko Starčević told our website. of the Subra Mountaineering Society.

What is the tendency of Montenegrin mountaineers is the greater representation of such manifestations in the offers of our tour operators, with the well-founded reasoning that in this way the entire offer of Montenegro is enriched.

Speaking of offers, one of the most attractive regattas for cruisers, old timers and steles will be held in Boka, from Herceg Novi to Tivat around the island of St. Mark, back to Igal, and the finish line is in Meljini.

The Youth Regatta is organized by the sailing club Jedro from Meljin and the Consulate of the SFRY in Tivat, and in honor of the memory of Youth Day, the relay and Josip Broz Tito. According to the organizers, twenty-five boats are expected to participate in this regatta, which will be opened by the grandson of Josip Broz, and thus practically begins the summer sailing season in Boka: "We will try to make the Mladost regatta a traditional one, this is the first time we are organizing it, but we believe that with a little support from everyone, it can be much bigger."
