Durmitor’s best-known summit and the one most people mean when they say they climbed a mountain in Montenegro. The last section is a scramble on limestone with chains in places, and the view from the top covers the whole plateau and the Tara canyon behind it.

It is very often called the highest point in Montenegro. It is not — Zla Kolata in Prokletije is twelve metres higher, and two other summits on that ridge are higher again. Bobotov Kuk is the highest point of the Durmitor massif, which is a different claim and the one worth making.

Late June to early October. The record at this elevation shows a 30 cm base on roughly a third of April days and it is usually gone by mid-May, but gullies hold snow much later.

Wann der Schnee liegt
Am Bobotov Kuk ist eine Decke von 30 cm normalerweise von Mai bis Nov verschwunden. Außerhalb dieses Fensters planen Sie mit Schnee.
Im Datensatz lag der Boden ab etwa 20. April verlässlich unter 5 cm und ging um 28. November wieder unter Schnee. Das sind Mediane aus elf Jahren, kein Versprechen für dieses.

Die Temperaturen sind auf 2.463 m korrigiert, die Geländehöhe am abgefragten Punkt; der Gipfel liegt auf 2.523 m. Die Schneehöhe ist nicht korrigiert — sie ist eine Gitterzelle von etwa neun Kilometern, also als Massiv und nicht als Gipfel zu lesen.
Diese Zelle wird mit Durmitor geteilt, die Schneehöhen dort sind also genau diese Zahlen. Die Temperaturen sind nicht geteilt — die sind auf jeden Gipfel korrigiert.
