En flat og smal strandvei under Vrmac, forbi sjøkapteiners palasser, små kirker og badebrygger — den roligste turen i gamle Boka, fra bymurene i Kotor til kastanjestranden i Stoliv.

Godt å vite
- Gå bare én vei: Blue Lines kommunale buss i Kotor kjører Kotor → Muo → Prčanj → Stoliv langs akkurat denne veien (~30 min; betal sjåføren kontant, gjerne med små sedler; siste buss tilbake går rundt 22:00, senere om sommeren).
- Store deler av ruten følger en smal vei med plass til bare én bil om gangen, og det er ikke fortau hele veien — hold barna tett inntil deg der veien smalner. Selv om turen er flat, passer den dårlig med barnevogn.
- Lange strekninger uten skygge mellom Muo og Prčanj — ta med vann. Langs hele sjøkanten i Prčanj finner du badestiger og badeplattformer.
- Kom i slutten av februar–mars, når kameliaene blomstrer i Stoliv. I slutten av juli går feiringen av Sv. Ilija opp til Gornji Stoliv.

Start beneath the walls of a UNESCO-listed medieval town at the head of the bay, where grey mountains drop straight into fjord-like water. Inside the gates: marble-paved lanes, hidden squares, Romanesque churches and shuttered Venetian palaces, with the Cathedral of St Tryphon at the centre. Within five minutes the shore road leaves the cruise crowds behind.

A fishing village of around 800 people on the western shore of the inner bay, directly across the narrow strait from Kotor's Old Town. Most visitors only ever glimpse it from the city walls or a cruise deck — which is the point: Muo gives you the unobstructed front-row view of the walled city that Kotor itself cannot. Its church, like the western shore's other villages, historically looked toward Venice; the feast day falls on 16 August.
Tre Sorelle palace
Etappe 3 av 6 →Three identical Gothic windows face the sea from this waterfront residence at Glavati. Municipal heritage material supports a fifteenth-century date, a sixteenth-century written name, a Buća-family connection and the distinctive three-part form. It does not name three sisters, identify their sailor, or show that the blocked openings mark their deaths — the legend and the record are two different streams, and the building is seen from outside.
Prčanj waterfront

A kilometre of sea captains' houses and swimming ladders along the eastern shore, directly across the water from Perast. About 1,500 people live in one of the oldest settlements in the Boka: from the 17th to the 19th century its fleet was among the largest in the bay, and the village produced a remarkable number of ship captains. The great waterfront church rises ahead of you.

Birth of Our Lady church
Etappe 5 av 6 →The parish Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary — Bogorodičin hram — begun in 1789, concluded in 1909 and solemnly consecrated in 1913. Its plan is a three-aisled domed basilica, though the sources reviewed do not establish a canonical basilica title. The collection records Captain Ivo Visin's Merito Navali flag, knight's cross and portrait; display can change during works and worship, and no reliable public timetable was found, so ask the parish first.

Two villages, one name, on the steep western slopes of Vrmac. Donji Stoliv is the small waterfront settlement along the shore; Gornji Stoliv is a near-abandoned hamlet of old stone houses about 240 metres up in chestnut woodland, reachable only on foot. The lower shore connected people to boats and trade, the upper used defensible, cultivable ground — and the old ascent is steep and exposed in heat.

Sju kilometer strandpromenade oppkalt etter fem lokale jenter som alle het Danica — partisaner under krigen, og flere av dem kom aldri hjem fra Sutjeska i 1943.
