Ženska plaža
A screened cove east of Ulcinj with a sulphur spring in the shallows, run as a women-only bathing area from May to October and visited for a fertility tradition older than any of its operators.

Ženska plaža is a small fenced cove on the pine-covered Pinješ shore, entered by steps, with a cave at the back and a spring that puts hydrogen sulphide into the water at 24 °C. Montenegro’s tourism organisation calls it a women-only cove, and that is how it has been used for generations. Go for the quiet and the oddity, not for a cure; the guide found historical borehole chemistry and no clinical evidence at all.

- Montenegro’s national tourism organisation describes it as a women-only cove and the Ulcinj tourism office says it is mostly visited by women from May to October. The operator sets the admission rules each season, so confirm on the day before you set out.
- What is the spring?
- Two boreholes at the cove were measured at more than 10 litres per second of mineral water at 24 °C, with 44.2 mg/l of hydrogen sulphide and 19–22 g/l total mineralisation. The smell is the sulphide. Historical borehole data is not the same as what you bathe in today, and no clinical study supports the fertility tradition.
- How do I get there?
- On the Pinješ Pines walk: from the Old Town past Mala plaža and the rock-and-pine coves, about a kilometre east, then steps down between Hotel Albatros and the former Hotel Galeb site. The walk continues to Port Milena and Velika plaža.
