Queen's Beach

A cove of pale sand and pebble in the Miločer park, named for Queen Marija in the 1930s and reserved for Aman guests again since July 2026.

Notre verdict

Queen’s Beach is the small one: a crescent of fine pinkish sand and smooth pebble sheltered by cypresses and pines, with the calmest and clearest water on this stretch of the riviera. It is in the atlas because it is one of the few genuinely sandy coves between Budva and Petrovac and because the walk to it through the 18-hectare Miločer park is worth doing on its own. Whether you can swim from it depends on the year: open to everyone during the resort’s 2021–2026 closure, it went back to hotel-guest use when Sveti Stefan reopened on 1 July 2026, and the public settlement text does not publish the rules.

  • Access is not guaranteed: in 2026 the operator treats the cove as a hotel beach from 08:00 to 20:00 in season, and the published settlement does not spell out the public rules — check the notice at the park gate
  • The park paths are shaded stone with roots: slippery when wet
  • Sea urchins on the rocks at both ends of the cove — enter over the sand
  • The lower park path may be closed for part of the day between May and October; the upper path stays open

Is Queen’s Beach open to the public?
Not reliably in 2026. The settlement that reopened the Aman resort keeps the Sveti Stefan and King’s (Miločer) beaches public but reserves Queen’s Beach for hotel guests; the operator applies that from 08:00 to 20:00 in season. Check the notice at the park gate on the day.
What is the difference between Queen’s Beach and King’s Beach?
Queen’s Beach (Kraljičina plaža) is the small cove near the Villa Miločer and spa — 200 m and 1,950 m² in the Budva Tourist Organisation register. King’s Beach (Kraljeva plaža, also Miločer beach) is the larger one in front of the villa, 280 m and 7,400 m², with a rocky pine headland at its southern end and public access restored in July 2026.
Why is it called Queen’s Beach?
The Miločer estate was the summer residence of the Karađorđević royal family, built 1934–36 to designs by Dragomir Tadić with a park by Richard Merker; Queen Marija favoured this cove, King Aleksandar the larger one.
