The Seven Bays — Budva Riviera

Budva Riviera

The Seven Bays

The coast’s most famous walk: promenades, a pedestrian tunnel through the cliff, hidden coves and pine paths linking seven bays — ending at the postcard view of Sveti Stefan.

Bon à savoir

  • Getting back: the Olimpia Express local bus runs Sveti Stefan → Pržno → Rafailovići → Bečići → Budva every 10–15 minutes in summer (roughly 08:00–22:00), flat fare about €2.50; a taxi is ~€12.
  • The tunnel from Slovenska plaža to Bečići is lit and hung with paintings — its entrance at the east end of the beach is easy to miss; follow the shoreline all the way.
  • The Kamenovo → Pržno cliff path is narrow with drops — proper footwear, and keep children close.
  • Miločer park routing changes with the Aman season (Villa Miločer from 22 May 2026, the island from 1 July 2026): King’s Beach and Sveti Stefan Beach are public under the settlement announced on 6 May 2026; Queen’s Beach is reserved for Aman guests.
  • Shade and water: tamarisks and beach bars on Slovenska plaža; the Zavala headland and the cliff stretch are exposed — last reliable kiosks before Pržno are at Rafailovići.

Venetian walls, the Citadela with its library of model ships — and on the rocks toward Mogren, the bronze Ballerina (1965), the girl who waited for a sailor who never came home. Rub her for luck; the whole town does.

A mile and a half of tamarisk trees and beach bars. Czech holidaymakers camping here in 1935 renamed the beach “Slavic” — it stuck. At its far end, a lit tunnel hung with paintings cuts through the cliff to Bečići.

In 1935 a Paris jury handed this two-kilometre sweep the Grand Prix “Golden Palm” as the most beautiful beach in Europe — the resorts came later; the sand is the same.

Rafailovići

One of the three old brotherhoods of Bečići — a stone fishing hamlet whose konobas still cook their own catch, at tables close enough to the water to feel the spray.

Voted Montenegro’s best beach in 2019 — and still bare of buildings, because the sand sits in a protected zone. The locals would prefer you didn’t tell anyone.

The riviera’s last fishing-village tableau: a tiny harbour and konoba terraces built out over the water — dinner is served above the boats that caught it.

Fortified in 1442 by the twelve Paštrović families with booty from a captured Turkish galley; emptied into a town-hotel in the 1950s for Loren, Monroe and Fischer–Spassky; reopening under Aman on 1 July 2026. The island empties, the island returns.
