Djenovići

Đenovići is a charming coastal settlement within the Herceg Novi municipality, stretching along the sun-drenched southern shore of the outer Bay of Kotor between Igalo and Baošići. It is defined by traditional Dalmatian stone architecture, with several well-preserved eighteenth and nineteenth-century houses lining the waterfront, quiet pebble and concrete swimming platforms, and a relaxed, lived-in atmosphere that feels closer to a working village than a holiday strip. The modest Orthodox Church of St George anchors the community, and a seafront promenade links the village to its neighbours, making it pleasant for an evening stroll along the water. The swimming here is the main draw: calm, exceptionally clear water and small pebble beaches, with the central beach offering a gentle entry that suits families with young children. Sun loungers, umbrellas and beach cafes are available in season. A handful of local restaurants and konobas serve fresh seafood and Montenegrin wines at the water's edge, with prices that remain honest compared with the busier resorts along the coast. The mood is unhurried and traditional, which makes Đenovići a good fit for visitors who want quiet seaside days rather than nightlife or crowds. The village is well positioned for the wider Herceg Novi riviera. Igalo's therapeutic spas, mud baths and seafront are a few minutes away, and Herceg Novi's Old Town, with its Forte Mare and Kanli Kula fortresses, Savina Monastery and lively markets, is roughly a ten-minute drive or a longer walk along the coast. Kotor is around forty-five minutes by road around the bay, and Tivat airport is roughly fifty minutes to an hour away, making Đenovići a peaceful, affordable and well-connected base.
