Practically, Sveti Stefan is a small mainland village strung along a slope above the Adriatic highway, with the island resort below it and the Paštrovići hills behind. Everything is walkable — bakery, small market, a few cafés and the paths down to the beaches — and the coastal bus that runs the magistrala between Budva and Petrovac stops here, which makes a car useful but not compulsory. Parking, terraces and the angle of the hillside mean most houses look out over the same view of the causeway.
The beaches either side of the isthmus are the daily destination, with a stretch of managed sunbeds and free shingle further out. West along the shore, the shaded Miločer estate and the fishing cove at Pržno add two more swimming spots and a row of seafront konobas within easy reach. Inland, olive terraces and old stone hamlets climb toward the monastery of Praskvica, and the mountain road behind the coast leads to Cetinje and the Lovćen ridge. Budva lies eight kilometres north for shopping and nightlife; Tivat airport is roughly half an hour away by road.
