Dubovica is one of the residential quarters filling the slope behind Budva's beach, a short walk from the water but out of the direct line of the promenade's noise. What defines this side of town is the beach itself: Slovenska plaža, a two-kilometre arc of fine pebble and shallow water with a paved walkway behind it, loungers, showers and a run of beach bars that shift from coffee in the morning to music after dark. Where the beach ends the marina begins, and past the marina stands the old town.
The riviera is what you came for, and it is best taken slowly. The walled town at the western end takes an hour to see and an evening to enjoy; the cliff path beyond it leads to Mogren's two coves. Eastward the shoreline continues to Bečići and the fishing village of Rafailovići, where the fish restaurants sit right over the water. The climate does much of the work here — roughly 220 sunny days a year and a mild Mediterranean winter keep the terraces usable well outside the summer months. With a car or a scooter, Sveti Stefan, the shaded park at Miločer and Petrovac are all within half an hour down the coast.
