The Podkošljun side of Budva lies between the town stadium and the eastern end of Slovenska plaža, a pocket of pine woods, sports grounds and low buildings where the beach is close but the seafront bustle is not. Mogren stadium next door is the home ground of the local club and the venue for a fair share of the town's summer events; the wooded rise behind it is the nearest thing central Budva has to a park, with shaded paths that stay usable in the middle of the day.
The beach is at the bottom of the street, on the quieter end of the town strand where the sand gives way to pines. From there the promenade runs west for about two kilometres to the marina and the old town walls, and east over the headland toward Bečići and Rafailovići. Water activities are the local speciality: sunbeds and pedalos on the beach itself, boat taxis to Sveti Nikola island, and skippered day trips down the coast to the coves around Sveti Stefan and Perazića Do that are difficult to reach by road. Restaurants in the surrounding streets are steadier and less expensive than the ones facing the water.
