For a village of this size, Djenovici is unusually easy to leave and come back to. The coastal bus runs along the magistrala through the day, linking it to Herceg Novi eight kilometres west and continuing east through Baosici, Bijela and Kumbor toward Tivat and its airport, while the Kamenari to Lepetane ferry shortens the crossing to the southern bay to a few minutes. In practice a car is optional here, and the day's plan can be settled over breakfast.
From the shore itself, boats leave through the summer for the classic circuit of the bay: Perast and the man-made islet of Our Lady of the Rocks, Kotor beneath its fortress walls, and swimming stops in coves no road reaches, plus shorter runs west to the Blue Cave and Mamula. Between excursions the village keeps its own pace, with bathing platforms along the waterfront and restaurants at the water's edge where fish is priced by the kilo and chosen off the ice. Herceg Novi repays a half day on foot, most of it upward, through the stepped lanes to Forte Mare and Kanli Kula with the long Pet Danica seafront running below them.
