Drobnjačka is a couple of hundred metres from the middle of Žabljak, in the grid of streets around the bus station — the most practical position in a town this size. Buses from Podgorica, Nikšić and Pljevlja arrive here, so a car is optional; equipment rental, a supermarket, the pharmacy and the national park information point are all within a short walk. The Javorovača slope, the town's own gentle ski run, is close enough to reach with skis over your shoulder.
Two kilometres one way takes you to Savin Kuk, the main ski centre, whose chairlift also runs in summer for walkers heading up the mountain. Two kilometres the other way reaches Crno jezero, the Black Lake — two connected glacial basins under the cliffs of Meded, ringed by a flat three-kilometre path through pine forest that most people cover in an hour. From the lake the harder routes leave for the ice cave and Bobotov Kuk. Off the mountain, the plateau's kitchens deserve attention: kačamak and cicvara with skorup, lamb baked under a metal lid, and blueberry rakija afterwards. Rafting trips on the Tara are arranged in town most summer mornings.
