Everything a stay in Igalo actually needs sits within a couple of hundred metres of this part of the centre: bank, post office, pharmacy, cash machine, taxis, and the rehabilitation institute that sets the town's calendar. The sea is essentially across the road, about twenty metres from the door, and the promenade running toward Herceg Novi starts a short walk away. It is a flat, walkable stretch of coast, which is not something you can say about much of Montenegro.
The position also makes Igalo an unusually convenient base. Tivat airport is roughly 17 kilometres around the bay and Dubrovnik about 23 in the other direction, with the Debeli Brijeg border crossing close by for anyone driving north. For trips deeper into the Boka, the Kamenari to Lepetane ferry cuts the drive to Kotor and Perast considerably, and boats leave the local quays for the Blue Cave and the beaches on the Luštica side. Closer still, Herceg Novi's old town is a walk or a short bus ride east, worth an afternoon for the fortresses, the market and the tiers of stairs that give the town its nickname. In the shoulder seasons the area stays open and busy rather than shuttered.
