Days on this part of the coast divide easily between the water and the road, and Sveti Stefan sits at a convenient hinge between the two. The beaches flanking the causeway are the default: shingle, clear water, sunbeds on the managed sections. Beyond them, boat trips run along the riviera to the caves and small coves that are unreachable on foot, across to Sveti Nikola island off Budva, and further out toward the Bay of Kotor. Scooters and small cars are the local currency for exploring, since the magistrala links everything in a straight line.
Overland, the choices stack up quickly. Budva's Old Town, markets and nightlife are eight kilometres north; Petrovac and the sandy strand at Buljarica lie south; the mountain road inland climbs through the Paštrovići hills to Cetinje, Njegoš's mausoleum on Lovćen and the switchbacks down into Kotor. Skadar Lake's boat tours and Ostrog monastery both work as full-day trips. Closer to home, the walk northwest through the pines of Miločer park to Queen's Beach and on to the fishing harbour at Pržno takes about twenty minutes and ends at a seafood terrace.
