Mojkovačka street runs along the northern side of Kolašin, past the Bianca resort and its pine belt, in a part of town where gardens and conifers still outnumber buildings. The sports zone with its courts is close by, and so is a large park planted with mature evergreens — the kind of place where the whole town walks in the late afternoon. It is a short stroll from here to the square and the market, but the street itself stays quiet, and the mountain air that earned Kolašin its old reputation as an air spa is the first thing you notice on arrival.
Outings from this side of town are straightforward. Rafting on the Tara runs through the warm months; the Bjelasica ski areas are a short drive up the valley; and Biogradska Gora National Park, with its glacial lake and one of the last primeval forests in Europe, makes an easy half-day. South, the road follows the Morača canyon to Morača Monastery, founded in 1252 and still holding some of the finest medieval frescoes in the country. The eco-katuns on the high pastures open in summer, serving cheese, kajmak and lamb where they are actually made, and they are worth the rough track.
