Each in our own words
Ljuta
Ljuta is a swim for people who like the shock of it: a concrete platform off the shore road, deep water straight away, and, 500 m north, the mouth of the Ljuta, one of the shortest rivers in Montenegro, which runs about 200 m from its karst spring to the sea at around 7 °C and chills the bay around it. Nothing is managed and nothing costs; the Blue Line bus stops at the door, and the old mills at the spring are the reason to stay for lunch.
There is no beach here — only concrete, deep water and cold — and no facilities of any kind at the platform; the length and depth are unmeasured, and there is no water-quality station for Ljuta.
Orahovac
Orahovac has no beach in the resort sense: the municipal plan says so plainly, and what it has instead is a string of small pebble coves between the old stone jetties, concrete quays to swim from, and water that the springs keep colder and fresher than anywhere else in the bay. The Morsko Dobro station here returned Excellent at all eight samplings in 2026. Nothing is managed and nothing costs; a couple of bars open in season, the oyster farm sells from the shore road, and the Kotor bus stops at the door.
Parking is private or customers-only and the water is genuinely cold near the springs; the coves are small, and in July and August a dozen swimmers fill one.
