How we rank

Every beach in this atlas has been walked, swum and photographed by us. The rank weighs six things: the water (official Morsko Dobro samples, not a colour), the shore (surface, entry, shade), how crowded it gets in August, the facilities and whether part of the beach stays free, how hard it is to reach, and the setting. Awards count only when we can cite the year. Facts carry the date we last checked them.
