Rose
A pebble shore and a working quay in the fishing village at the tip of Luštica, reached by the ferry from Herceg Novi rather than by road.
Our verdict
Rose is a village you swim from rather than a beach you go to. The water is clear enough that Morsko Dobro singles it out for diving, the pebble shore and the concrete either side of the pier stay quiet even in August, and the stone houses come right down to the edge. What brings most people across is lunch on a terrace over the water, with the swim as the reason to stay the afternoon. Come by boat: the road around Luštica takes far longer than the crossing.

- A modest one. Morsko Dobro calls it a pebbly beach in the fishing village with a pier for small boats, and the municipality mentions a smaller sandy beach, Malo Rose, by the harbour. Nobody publishes a length for either.
