Mogren II
Mogren II
The farther of Budva’s two Mogren coves, through a tunnel in the rock, and the quieter one for it.
Our verdict
Mogren II is what people walk to Mogren for and then keep walking to reach: about 170 m of coarse pale sand under the same cliff, a tunnel between it and the first cove, and noticeably fewer people for two minutes more effort. One concession runs loungers here; there is no road, no bus and nothing else. It is also the more exposed of the two, and the one without a lifeguard on our list.

The same clear water as the first cove and usually emptier, because everybody has to walk through the tunnel to reach it
No award we can cite for this beach. Absence is information too.
Know before you swim
- Reached only through the rock passage and tunnel from Mogren I — there is no other way in and no road
- If the concessions have closed for big waves, do not swim: a swimmer drowned here on 27 July 2026 after both had shut
- The cliff path to the first cove is unsafe in a southerly wind or strong waves, and its gate is locked in rough seas
- Rocks at both edges of the cove and in the passage back through the tunnel
When the water is warm
Mogren II was at its warmest, 27.6 °C, on September 1, 2026, and at its coldest, 19.1 °C, on May 26, 2026. Every point is a real sampling visit with the temperature read on the spot, not a monthly average copied from somewhere else.

Questions
- How do I get to Mogren II?
- On foot through Mogren I. From the Ballerina statue below the Old Town walls the paved cliff path reaches the first cove in 8–10 minutes, then a short rock passage and a tunnel bring you here. The gate on the path opens at set hours and is locked in rough seas.
- Is Mogren II quieter than Mogren I?
- Yes, and that is the whole reason to come. Everybody arriving has to cross the first cove and pass the tunnel, so the crowd thins. Before 10:00 in July and August there is still free sand.
- Is there a lifeguard on Mogren II?
- Our list records a lifeguard on Mogren I and none here. Neither cove is watched once the concessions close for weather.
