Golubovci is a suburban settlement south of Podgorica and the seat of Zeta municipality, which separated administratively from the capital in recent years. To travellers it is best known as the home of Podgorica Airport, Montenegro's main international gateway, whose runway lies on the flat farmland just outside the village. For a great many visitors this is where a Montenegrin holiday begins and ends.

Golubovci lies about 12 km south of Podgorica in the Zeta plain, between the capital and Skadar lake. It is the centre of the Zeta municipality, which separated from Podgorica in 2022.
The flat, fertile ground between the Moraca and Skadar lake — the largest area of good farmland in Montenegro. It grows fruit, vegetables and fodder, and the villages across it are among the country's most populous rural settlements.
It is effectively next door: the airport sits between Golubovci and the capital, a few minutes away by road. That makes the area convenient for an early flight and for car hire, though the flight path means noise in places.
Little in Golubovci itself, but the surroundings hold a good deal: the medieval church at Sveti Nikola, the ruins of Duklja and Medun north of Podgorica, and the northern shore of Skadar lake with its birdlife, all within half an hour.
Yes, easily. Vranjina and the causeway across the lake are about fifteen minutes south, and the road continues to Virpazar. Boat trips into the reeds start from both, and the marsh edge begins almost at the edge of the plain.
For a night before a flight, or as a cheap base with a car, yes. It is a working plain town rather than somewhere to spend a holiday, and Podgorica is close enough for restaurants and the museums.
