The water is the point along this stretch of the Krtoli shore. The bay here is sheltered on all sides, so the surface stays flat well into the afternoon and small boats and kayaks can work the coastline without much thought about weather. Sveti Marko lies a short paddle offshore, wooded and empty since its holiday village was abandoned, and beyond it Gospa od Milosti holds a fifteenth-century monastery on an islet barely larger than its own walls. Visibility below the surface is good enough that recreational diving has become one of the local trades.
On land, this is a quiet edge of the Tivat municipality: scattered houses, olive ground, private jetties and none of the marina bustle. The Solila salt pans and their birdlife are close by inland, Tivat airport is only a few minutes' drive, and the town centre with Porto Montenegro's promenade and restaurants is a short run around the bay. From there the road continues to Kotor's walled town beneath its mountain, or out over the Luštica peninsula to the open-sea beaches at Žanjic and Plavi Horizonti.
