Meljine's shoreline is the start of one of the better walks on this coast. A paved seaside path leaves from here and follows the water into Herceg Novi, roughly two kilometres of terraces, ladders into the sea, small beaches and cafés, then continues as the Pet Danica promenade and runs on toward Igalo a kilometre or so further. People use it for everything, a swim before breakfast, a walk to dinner, a slow evening loop with the lights of the bay on one side and old stone houses on the other, and it removes most reasons to take the car out.
Meljine itself is a residential pocket of the Herceg Novi riviera, greener and quieter than the town centre, with oleander, palm and fig in the gardens and the mountain rising behind. At the western end of that walk, Igalo's Mediterranean Health Institute has been treating people with peloid mud and mineral seawater since the middle of the last century and still shapes the town's off-season life. In the other direction, past the Lazaret's imperial-era buildings, the coast road leads to Kumbor, Đenovići and the Kamenari ferry across the strait. Tivat's airport is around sixteen kilometres away, which makes arrival and departure days unusually painless.
