Bulevar Teuta is the road that carries Ulcinj out of its old core toward the sand, named for the Illyrian queen whose fleets are tied to this coast. The stretch is residential and comparatively quiet: gardens, low apartment houses, small markets, and enough distance from the seafront bars that nights stay calm. The town centre lies in one direction, an easy walk for the green market, the bus station and the Sahat Kula clock tower; in the other, the road runs down past the Port Milena channel toward Velika plaža.
That combination suits guests who want the beach without living on it. Velika plaža is a different Adriatic from the rocky north — flat, fine-grained, shallow far out, which is why families and beginner kitesurfers gravitate here while the beach bars spread out along its length. Closer in, Mala plaža under the Old Town gives you a swim between errands. Food in this part of town is domestic rather than touristic: grill houses, pizza ovens and bakeries selling burek early. Day trips fan out easily — Ada Bojana and its stilt fish restaurants to the south-east, the olive bay at Valdanos and the birdlife of Lake Šas to the north.
