This end of Sava Ilića is where Igalo is at its most convenient: the beach roughly twenty metres away, a large supermarket on the ground floor of the building, and a small park with benches and pines for the hours when the sun is too much. The seafront here is a wide, planted strip rather than a road, so the noise stays low and the walk to a swim is measured in seconds. Pharmacies, cafes and restaurants are scattered along the same few blocks.
The promenade begins effectively at the door and runs east for several kilometres to Herceg Novi, past the rehabilitation institute, sports courts and a chain of small beaches. It is a level, shaded walk and it is how the town spends its evenings, slowly, with a stop for ice cream or a glass of wine somewhere on the way. The view across the water takes in the Prevlaka ridge and the strait at the entrance to the Boka, and the light there in the last hour before sunset is the reason people linger on the seafront. Day boats leave from Igalo and Herceg Novi for Žanjic, Mirište and the Blue Cave through the summer.
