Bigova is a fishing village on the outer coast between Kotor and the Luštica peninsula, wrapped around a deep, sheltered cove where boats swing at their moorings a couple of hundred metres from the door. Not much happens here by design: a handful of houses on the slope, a working waterfront, a small pebble and concrete beach, and open sea beyond the headland rather than the enclosed water of the inner bay. It is the kind of place people drive to for lunch, since the konobas around the cove are known along this coast for whatever came in that morning, cooked plainly with olive oil and served at the water's edge.
The hills behind are dry Mediterranean country of stone walls, macchia and old olive terraces, with tracks that climb for views over Trašte bay and the mouth of Boka. Swimming is the main event, and boats can be hired locally to reach the coves along Luštica's outer shore. Tivat, with Porto Montenegro's marina and its waterfront restaurants, is a drive over the ridge with the airport just beyond it, while Kotor's walls and Budva's Old Town are both within reach for a day out. That combination suits people who want the coast without staying in the middle of it.
