This stretch of coast lies between Koštajnica and Kamenari, on the northern shore where the Bay of Kotor squeezes into the Verige narrows — the choke point the Venetians could close with a chain, roughly 300 metres across at its tightest. Balconies face south over the water toward Perast, Our Lady of the Rocks and the wooded hump of St George; the far shore is near enough that you hear church bells across it on a still morning. The waterfront is working village rather than resort: stone landings, boats on moorings, olives and figs on the terraces above the road.
Kamenari is the practical hinge of this part of the bay. The ferry crosses the narrows to Lepetane in a few minutes and saves the long drive around the inner bay, putting Tivat, Porto Montenegro and the airport within easy reach, while Herceg Novi lies west along the coast road. In the other direction it is a short run to Perast and then Kotor, where the Old Town's marble lanes and the fortress staircase above them justify an early start before the cruise crowds arrive. Swimming here is off concrete platforms and pebble pockets, into deep, cold, exceptionally clear water.
