Lepetane stands at the Verige narrows, the point where the Bay of Kotor pinches to a few hundred metres before opening again into the inner gulfs. Chains were once strung across this channel to close the bay to raiders; today the traffic is a ferry that shuttles to Kamenari every few minutes, free for foot passengers and the reason the village feels connected without being busy. The settlement itself is a single line of houses along the water, with a small church, a couple of shops, and ferry ramps as background noise.
What you get here is the bay at eye level. The shore is stone and concrete rather than sand, the water deep and clear enough to swim straight off the edge, and the evening light moves slowly across the Vrmac and Orjen slopes opposite. Walking the coast road toward Donja Lastva and Tivat takes you past mandraći, the small walled boat harbours that Boka families have kept for generations. Kotor's old town is about twelve kilometres around the shore, Tivat and its airport five to six, and the ferry cuts the drive to Herceg Novi and the Adriatic highway to about a quarter of an hour.
