Novakovići

Novakovići is a small village in the Montenegrin interior, set among the hills that roll between the country's central valleys and the karst plateau. A few houses stand along a single road, with orchards and hay meadows around them and forest closing in above. Villages of this size are the basic unit of settlement across inland Montenegro: a family name, a handful of households, a shared water source and a graveyard on the nearest rise.
