Each in our own words
Meljine Beach
Meljine Beach is the small public family strand immediately beside Lazure Hotel & Marina. The beach itself is only 30 metres long, but it has a gentle pebble entry, clear water inside a marked swimming zone and the Pet Danica waterfront route at its back. Come for a swim during a walk from Herceg Novi rather than expecting a large resort beach: the marina, old lazaret and mountain amphitheatre are as much a part of the setting as the sand.
This is a very small beach next to an active marina, with boats and moorings outside the buoy line. Space is limited and some nearby water entries are from rocks or concrete rather than the pebble strand.
Savina
Savina is a promenade beach rather than a bay: 200 m of pebble and concrete platforms along the Šetalište 5 Danica where it passes below the monastery wood, with loungers at €10, a beach bar and restaurants within reach, and the view straight across the water to Luštica. Its point is the combination — a swim, then the climb through the pines to the three churches of Savina, or the other way round. Herceg Novi’s own swimmers use it; the boat crowds do not.
Much of the entry is off concrete edges rather than a sloping beach, and the promenade runs directly behind you — this is town swimming with a monastery above it, not a cove.
