Trubjela

Trubjela is a small settlement in the interior of Montenegro, a scatter of houses among farmland and natural woodland with no development to speak of and no crowds at any point in the year. Places like it hold much of the country's rural map together: too small for a school or a shop, large enough to have a name, a graveyard and a long memory. The landscape around it is limestone country, with thin soil, dry-stone walls, and grazing land broken by outcrops and by pockets of oak, hornbeam and juniper.
