A low-rise waterfront settlement better suited to a small base by the bay than to a resort stay: short shoreline walks, apartments and restaurants spread along the coast, a maritime museum in an old captain’s house, and a strong part in the winter Mimosa Festival. The shore is a patchwork of pebble, concrete edges and stone basins rather than one broad beach.
