Pearl Coast: what the official record actually says
Bar Tourism Organisation calls Čanj’s main beach Pearl Coast, or Biserna Obala, and describes it as pebble. Its dedicated beach page gives a length of 1,200 metres and an area of 55,000 square metres. The organisation’s broader tourist-place overview says 1,100 metres. Both are official pages, and neither explains the 100-metre difference.
The honest conclusion is a range, not a manufactured exact answer: expect roughly 1.1–1.2 kilometres of shoreline according to the Tourism Organisation. Boundaries, measuring methods or a simple editorial inconsistency could explain the difference, but the reviewed sources do not say which. The inherited article’s “1,200 km” was an obvious unit error and has been removed.
A long beach does not mean unlimited personal space. Arrival time, month, weather, group tours and the placement of rented equipment can change usable space. The licensed summer image below is a useful counterweight to “hidden empty beach” marketing: it shows substantial use along the shore. If space matters, inspect the beach at the hour you expect to use it and avoid assuming that an early-morning impression predicts mid-afternoon.

A microbiological classification does not measure waves, currents, jellyfish, broken glass, heat exposure or every short-lived change after rain. Queen’s Beach near Čanj: plan a sea transfer
The nearby Queen’s Beach is in Uvala Pećin. Bar Tourism Organisation describes it as enclosed by inaccessible rocks, reached from the sea and equipped with a pier. That supports one clear planning rule: treat it as a boat outing, not as a casual walk around the headland.
It does not establish that boats run frequently, at a fixed fare or in every sea condition. Before paying, identify the operator, vessel, departure point, return time, cancellation terms and what happens if weather changes. Confirm whether the boat and pier suit every passenger’s mobility. A pier is not evidence of step-free boarding, lifeguard coverage, shade, toilets or food service.

Practical arrival: car, bus and train
By car or taxi: Čanj is reached by road from the coastal corridor. Use live navigation because roadworks and traffic can alter the useful route. Ask your accommodation for its exact pin, the final approach and parking terms in writing. “Parking available” may mean a reserved on-site space, a tight shared yard, paid public parking or only a suggestion nearby. Do not discover the difference after unloading.
What the sources say
By bus: a December 2022 Municipality of Bar route plan defines Line 1-A between Stari Bar and Čanj. Its listed route includes Bar’s bus/rail area, Sutomore bus station, Mišići, Čanj I at the beach and Čanj II at the turning loop. That is valuable evidence of the intended connection, but it is not a 2026 live departure board. Bar Tourism currently lists Bar bus station at +382 30 346 141 and Sutomore bus station at +382 30 374 400. Reconfirm the day, direction, stop and last useful departure.
By train: Čanj has no railway station. Use the official Railway Transport of Montenegro journey planner for a current train to Sutomore, then arrange the road leg separately. The official station contact published by Bar Tourism and the railway is +382 30 301 692. Leave transfer margin; a train arrival and a local bus departure are not presented as a guaranteed connection.
By air: Airports of Montenegro operates both Podgorica and Tivat airports. Compare the actual flight, current road route and transfer quote rather than choosing from a static kilometre claim. Traffic, border-season demand, road works and the pickup arrangement can matter more than a nominal map distance.

The Bar Tourism Organisation announced that its Čanj tourist-information office opened for the 2026 season in July. That is useful evidence of staffed summer support—and evidence that the operation is seasonal. It does not prove year-round hours. A sea view can also imply an uphill return.
