Čanj (Montenegro) is a small tourist town with a large, clean beach. Known as a budget destination. It is almost impossible to see from the Jadranska magistrala. You need to approach him, and discover him. Geo-address is: 42° 09' 40'' N, and 19° 00' 20'' E. Čanj is located on the edge of a transparent sickle-shaped bay, almost exactly halfway between Bar (see it, Montenegro) and Petrovac (see it). Administratively, it belongs to Bar and the Bar Riviera, although tourists from Čanj like to go on trips to Budva (see Budva, Montenegro), where they arrive in less than half an hour, or to Ulcinj, which is a little further away (see it). It is 54 km from Tivat - Čanj airport, and only 45 km from Podgorica. In particular, the immediate proximity of the Sutomore railway station, on the route Belgrade - Bar, significantly affects the capacity utilization here.

Whichever side you come to Čanj from, guests must see for themselves that it really is an isolated vacation spot. From the Adriatic Highway, which connects all the cities on the Montenegrin coast, the traveler turns towards the idyllic Čanj bay. Through the Mediterranean maquis, the road to the coast meanders in places for a length of 1.5 km. At the very end lies a surprise when the main trump card of Canja! The beach.

Due to its beauty, the 1,200 m long beach was named the Pearl Coast. No one can feel cramped there. Isolated from busy roads, it offers conditions for pleasant swimming and safe rest. For teenagers, couples with children and older lovers of the Mediterranean in the summer. In the hinterland of the Pearl Coast there is an untouched coastal maquis. This specific botanical coloplet of pines and shrubby vegetation - at the slightest wind - announces itself as a fragrant aromatic bath for the nostrils! It is therefore not surprising that Čanj is referred to as an air spa, where mountain and coastal winds meet. Air humidity here is high throughout the year, so a stay is recommended for anyone suffering from chronic respiratory diseases. That's why Čanj is an ideal place for children to rest, because an increased dose of their immunity has been observed after returning home to the continent. The child should definitely be provided with a diving mask; mask and shore diving are chimney bronchus! Čanj also has its own tourist mask, like every coastal place - let's face it. With its (always cheap!) hotels, apartments, rooms for rent, restaurants and pizzerias, cafes, beach bars, shops, surgeries, sports facilities (pedals, diving club, gym, sports fields), parks, post office..., Čanj hides those less popular postcards. The promenade that follows the line of the bay is an ordinary paved road, with visually and architecturally problematic catering facilities.

Nevertheless, such positive internet comments are quite common: “I spent the summer in Čanj with my wife. We arrived by car in the afternoon. Within half an hour we found a room with a double bed, refrigerator, separate bathroom, terrace, kitchen, air conditioning and parking. 300 m from the Pearl Coast. My dears, we have never rested better. After breakfast, we would go down to the beach, swim and sunbathe until 12 noon, then have lunch, rest a little - and back to the beach. The sun is there until 8:00 p.m. Enjoyment. In the evening we used to walk by the sea. We found a restaurant with good Leskovac grill and cold draft beer. Parks are neat, water is available non-stop, and fruits and vegetables are always fresh. We heard from friends that the hotels, although older buildings, are quite tidy. Big greetings from Maria."

"It's not bad for families with small children and for people who are running away from the crowds..." Who really, even in isolated Čanj, wants to escape from the summer crowds and go deeper into nature - he agrees with those who claim that the real pearl is not the 1,200 km long Pearl Coast beach. Rather, it is the nearby fairy-tale Kraljičina beach (it should not be confused with the Kraljičina beach of the same name in Miločer, see that)! Paradise Bay can only be reached by local tourist boats (they run frequently) or by your own boat. Anyone who has experienced boating and would like to visit the Montenegrin coast, central or northern parts of Montenegro - there are numerous local bus lines at their disposal.
