Krašići in 2026: Bus Times, Shore Access and Car-Free Stays

Krašići can work without a rental car, but only when the accommodation, bus timetable and swimming access are chosen as one system. A room described as “near the sea” may still sit above a steep lane. A waterfront address may use rock, steps or a concrete platform rather than a beach. Seven buses in each direction do not create turn-up-and-go service.

This 2026 guide is deliberately narrower than Montenegro.com’s general Krašići destination guide. It answers the operational questions: where the published bus gaps fall, what Tivat Airport information does and does not prove, how to screen a shore entrance, and when a car-free stay becomes a poor choice.

Start with the settlement, not the resort label

The small resident base matters only as context. It explains why a visitor should not infer city-frequency transport or year-round services from the number of rental listings. It does not mean a shop, restaurant, pharmacy, taxi or boat will be unavailable; it means each essential service needs direct confirmation.

Read the current bus page as a snapshot

The Tourist Organization of Tivat bus page, checked on 30 August 2026, lists seven Krašići–Tivat departures: 06:40, 08:15, 11:30, 13:00, 14:15, 17:45 and 20:00. It lists seven Tivat–Krašići departures: 07:30, 10:45, 12:30, 13:40, 17:15, 19:00 and 20:30.

The useful fact is not just “seven buses.” The longest published daytime gap toward Tivat is 3 hours 30 minutes, from 14:15 to 17:45. In the return direction it is 3 hours 35 minutes, from 13:40 to 17:15. Missing one departure can therefore reshape a meal, airport transfer or boat booking.

The same page gives the Tivat bus-station information number as +382 32 66 33 66 and hours of 07:00–21:30. The Municipality of Tivat also links a Tivat–Krašići PDF, but that underlying registered timetable is older. Use the current tourism page as the dated web snapshot, then call before travel. Neither page reviewed establishes the exact village stop, fare, low-floor vehicle, wheelchair boarding, bicycle carriage, luggage policy or guaranteed operation on every holiday.

Build the airport transfer as a separate leg

Airports of Montenegro publishes Tivat Airport as 4 km and five minutes from “Tivat” on its road-access page. That is an airport-to-city reference, not an airport-to-Krašići measurement. The official airport page reviewed does not publish a direct Krašići bus, fixed taxi fare or village transfer time.

For a car-free arrival, obtain a booking that names the flight, arrival terminal meeting point, driver or company, destination address, total price, waiting allowance, payment method, child-seat requirement and what happens after a delay. “Airport pickup available” is incomplete until those fields are answered. The Tivat guide helps with a city stopover, but city access and peninsula access remain different journeys.

A bus-based airport plan needs two independently confirmed legs: airport to the correct Tivat boarding point, then Tivat to the correct Krašići stop. Do not construct the connection by subtracting published clock times. The sources do not establish walking safety between the airport and bus station, through-ticketing, protected waiting, baggage transfer or guaranteed connection holding.

Choose the shore entrance before the room

The official Tivat tourism beach page describes Bjelila and the other Krtoli settlements, including Krašići, as a shore characterized by rock and concrete piers. That is the correct default expectation: individual bathing entries rather than a continuous sandy strand.

In 2021, the Municipality of Tivat reported building a staircase to the coast near Balkanska Street after residents requested regulated access. The municipality said the work only partially addressed a long-standing access problem. That dated project proves neither the staircase’s present condition nor access from a particular apartment, but it is strong evidence against treating the whole waterfront as an effortless promenade.

Ask the host for an uncut phone video from the entrance door to the exact water entry. Request the date filmed. Count road crossings and steps; inspect handrails, ladder rungs, algae-prone surfaces, water depth, shade and the place to leave footwear. Ask who controls the platform and whether non-guests may use it. For a child, weak swimmer or traveler with reduced mobility, replace “close to beach” with a precise description of the entry and exit.

Use the live water dashboard, not a slogan

Morsko Dobro’s live monitoring record for Krašići 01 showed seven “Excellent” samples in 2026 through the sample taken at 08:35 on 18 August. The dashboard recorded those rounds on 26 May, 9 June, 23 June, 7 July, 21 July, 4 August and 18 August. This is useful current evidence for one monitored water body and seven sampling moments.

It is not a permanent promise. The agency’s 2024 season report classified Krašići 01 poorly at the seasonal level even though the ten individual rounds were three excellent, four good and three satisfactory. The 2026 national update also shows why local checks matter: during the 17–21 August round, Tivat had seven excellent locations, one good, one satisfactory and one poor, with Donja Lastva still under a bathing prohibition after repeat testing.

Check the official bathing-water dashboard for Krašići 01 immediately before swimming, then obey on-site flags and closures. A clear-looking sea, an old seasonal grade or a result from another Tivat location cannot replace the current local notice.

Screen the accommodation in six layers

1. Pin and entrance

Ask for the map pin and the entrance photo, not only the postal wording “Krašići.” Confirm whether the door is on the shore road, a perpendicular lane or the upper village. Ask which published bus stop the host uses and how many minutes they personally take while carrying luggage.

2. Water and wastewater

Ask whether tap water is supplied continuously at the unit, whether a storage tank or pump is involved, and what the host’s failure procedure is. Ask how wastewater is handled at that property. Municipality discussions for the 2025 budget recorded an unresolved sewer-project question in the old village and water-supply concerns in upper zones. Those planning notes do not diagnose an individual building, but they justify property-specific questions.

3. Food and late arrival

Request the name, current hours and walking route for the nearest food shop on your dates. Obtain a late-arrival plan before flying. Do not assume that a restaurant shown in an old tourism brochure still operates, accepts walk-ins or serves after a delayed flight.

4. Heat, shade and stairs

Confirm air conditioning in the exact sleeping room, blackout, outdoor shade and the number of steps from road to bed. A terrace photograph is not proof of an accessible apartment. Ask whether windows can remain closed against road noise while cooling still works.

5. Connectivity and work

For remote work, request a dated speed test from inside the unit and ask which mobile networks work there. Clarify outage backup and whether the advertised desk is a usable chair-and-table setup. No municipality-level statistic can answer those room-specific questions.

6. Cancellation evidence

Keep the host’s answers inside the booking platform. If shore access, parking, bus stop or utilities are essential, state that in writing before the cancellation deadline. A screenshot of a map pin and a dated access video are more actionable than adjectives such as “steps from the beach.”

Do not confuse car-free with barrier-free

In an August 2026 planning consultation, Krašići representatives identified missing pedestrian zones, parking and public facilities as key challenges. In the October 2025 budget meeting, residents again sought urgently needed parking space, street repairs and traffic signs for lanes meeting the main road. These are local-government records of planning priorities, not a claim that every metre is unsafe.

They do mean that a road-based walking plan needs evidence. Ask the host to show the route to the bus stop in both directions and identify sections without a footway. Do not book an upper address for a stroller, mobility aid or heavy luggage merely because the straight-line distance is short. Register the stay without depending on one office

The Tourist Organization’s registration page says visitors must register within 24 hours and currently lists a €1 daily residence tax for adults, with stated reductions and exemptions. Ask the accommodation in writing who completes registration and what proof you will receive; recheck the official page because rules and amounts can change.

Office information is not fully synchronized. The organization’s general “About Us” page says the seasonal Krašići bureau starts in June and operates daily 07:00–20:00 through September. Its registration page still displays a 2025 opening date and narrower weekday/Saturday hours, with Sunday closed. Treat that conflict as a reason to call, not as permission to choose the more convenient version. The year-round Tivat and ⁠Porto Montenegro offices are the published fallback.

Make day trips conditional, not foundational

The official “Life on Luštica” panoramic route is a 40 km driving circuit through Bjelila, Krašići, Zabrđe, Klinci and other settlements. The tourism organization warns that parts are narrow and steep and suggests an e-bike for cyclists. It is not a walking loop or proof of public transport around the peninsula.

For a boat day, obtain the operator’s legal name, exact boarding point, route, vessel, lifejackets, weather decision, cancellation rule and return time. A resilient three-night car-free structure

Arrival: use a named transfer

Choose a daylight arrival when possible. Have the driver meet the flight, stop for groceries if agreed, and deliver you to the exact entrance. Film the route to the bus stop and shore while the host can correct misunderstandings. Keep the first evening local.

Full day one: Tivat on the published bus axis

Take a morning departure and choose the return before leaving Krašići. Save the bus-station number. Do not plan the last published bus as the only acceptable return; keep a confirmed driver contact and price ceiling.

Full day two: shore or pre-booked boat

Check Krašići 01 on the live dashboard and the on-site flag. Use only the verified entry. If the weather, access or water notice fails, use a non-swimming local day. A boat trip belongs here only when the departure and return are confirmed in advance.

Departure: protect the flight

Use a direct pre-booked transfer for a flight rather than a two-leg bus connection with no published guarantee. Reconfirm the pickup the night before and preserve enough margin for peninsula traffic, airport processing and a failed first driver.

Practical booking checklist

• Get the exact map pin, entrance photo and address wording.
• Request a continuous, dated video to the bus stop and exact swimming entry.
• Confirm steps, gradient, road crossings, night lighting and luggage route.
• Recheck the official bus page; call for date, stop, fare and luggage rules.
• Book airport transfer with a named meeting point, total price and delay policy.
• Ask for current food-shop name, hours and walking route.
• Confirm tap-water continuity, wastewater arrangement and failure procedure at the unit.
• Check Krašići 01 on the live dashboard and obey current flags.
• Get written confirmation of visitor registration and proof.
