Herceg Novi - After a thirteen-year hiatus, one of the most significant cultural events in the region is returning to Herceg Novi - the classical music festival "Days of Music". This manifestation lived in the city of artists from 1983 to 1991 and was called "Yugoslavian Days of Music", and settled in Herceg Novi after eleven years of wandering around other coastal cities. Unfortunately, the last "Days of Music" were held in 1991, because they did not fit into the social constellation that was dominant in these areas in the nineties: "Here we are again, after so many years, at the Days of Music in Herceg Novi. May these days of musical joy, which are coming to our city again, make us forget for a moment the past ugly past, in which the muses were silent or sad", said Dejan Mandić, mayor of Herceg Novi, at the opening of the twenty-first international festival "Days of Music". The opening was marked by Novljani, Radovan Papović, who conducted the Symphony Orchestra of Montenegro, with pianist Boris Kraljević, a professor at the Cetinje Academy, and guitarist Goran Krivokapić, winner of the first prize in Spain at the famous "Andre Segovia" world competition.

The artistic director of the Festival, master of arts Boris Kraljević (master's degree at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow in the class of Prof. Lav Naumov) very emotionally said before the start of the "Day of Music": "When you dare to call the festival Days of Music, in a city where music has been everyday for decades, then you have deliberately opened up a wide field of challenges." This year's festival will offer a whole range of musical atmospheres with the selection, primarily of music by authors from the countries where the performers come from, as well as the stylistic variety. Likewise, with the modern interpretations that were insisted on this time, we will listen to various eras in their contemporary echoes. This year, the audience will have the opportunity to listen to the sounds interpreted by artists from Montenegro, as well as the Montenegrin Symphony Orchestra. I would like to thank the support we received from the Municipality of Herceg Novi, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Montenegro, the Canadian Embassy in Belgrade and other patrons who made it possible to re-implement such a wonderful project,'' concluded Kraljević.

Having an insight into the names of artists, such as Judy Kehler Siberet, Dino Mastroyiannis, Claude and Odile Delange, Eugene Indic, Đorđe Staneti, the "Glinka" quartet, Novljani and their guests will have the opportunity to truly enjoy true musical values, and the city of artists will confirm that epithet even more and, as the president of the festival council, Milena Lučić, said, "we hope that Days of Music will never leave this environment, that there will never be another reason for something like that''.
