If you are planning sailing along the Montenegrin coast, which is one of the most beautiful ways to get to know the coast, and you want to be sure that you do it comfortably and in style, contact us. When you sail with Comfort 30 and Maplin Bird, it will be like that. Your excursion can consist of two sailboats, if it is a larger group, or individually Maplin Bird can host up to 12 people (including crew members) and Comfort 30 up to 6 people with a skipper. The cabins are comfortable in case you are interested in a bareboat, and there is also the possibility of catering.
The ships are anchored at the same time, there is a place on the deck for everyone, as evidenced by the photos from one of the trips we organized for a group of 14 students from Switzerland in September of this year, which were unforgettable spent touring Tivat, Perast and Herceg-Novi.
If you cruise with Comfort 30 I Maplin Bird, you will be on an eco-vacation. The crew always uses sails when the wind allows it. An ideal combination of ecology, elegance and significantly more favorable prices compared to other European countries that offer sailing trips.
Practical notes for sailing here
Where boats are based. The main marinas are Porto Montenegro in Tivat, Portonovi at Kumbor and Marina Bar, with smaller moorings around the bay. Tivat is where most charters start, partly because the airport is minutes away.
Season and conditions. May to October is the sailing season, with the settled weather in June and September. Inside the Bay of Kotor the water is sheltered and the wind light and thermal, which makes it forgiving; outside the bay the open Adriatic behaves quite differently and the afternoon breeze can build.
Formalities. Montenegro is not in the EU, so a boat arriving from Croatia clears in and out through a port of entry and pays a cruising fee. Charter companies handle this for their own boats, but it matters if you are sailing your own.
A realistic week. The bay alone — Tivat, Perast, Kotor, Herceg Novi and the Lustica anchorages — fills several days at an unhurried pace, and the run south to Budva, Sveti Stefan and Bar adds the open-coast leg for those who want it.
